Manchester United are eyeing a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos as he considers a move away, according to Foot Parisien.
The Red Devils splashed over £200m in the summer to sign Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, who have all had decent seasons, but the club are alert to more possibilities to strengthen the squad further in the summer.
With Joshua Zirkzee linked with an exit away from Old Trafford in 2026, a replacement would be needed, and it has now emerged that Portugal international Ramos is someone who could be targeted for a move after the World Cup.
Man Utd Eyeing Goncalo Ramos Move
Goncalo Ramos
Ramos, who has been described as 'unbelievable', has found himself down the pecking order at PSG under Luis Enrique, with the Spaniard preferring to use a false nine over a traditional striker.
The former Benfica star's frustrations came to a boiling point recently when he was handed a rare start against Auxerre in Ligue 1, but was substituted after just 60 minutes, before throwing a tantrum on the sidelines.
Now it's understood that the striker is considering an exit from the Parc des Princes, and PSG are not expected to stand in his way if they receive an offer worth around €60m (£52.1m). The player is expected to seize the opportunity to move should it come, and Man Utd are among the most interested parties.
Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also showing an interest in the Portugal international, and while he is very popular among his PSG teammates, it now looks inevitable that a move will take place in the summer.
Ramos Can Provide Competition for Sesko
Benjamin Sesko
United's forward options are arguably as strong as they have been in years, but after the Ruben Amorim experiment of using extra defenders, the squad is light on numbers.
Zirkzee is likely to leave the club which means another number nine is needed, and a player with the skillset and profile of Ramos could provide the perfect competition to help take both Sesko and Man Utd to the next level.
However, it's clear that there are other priorities in the squad that should be addressed first, in particular in midfield, so it remains to be seen whether or not they can see off the competition to get his signature. It's one to keep an eye on over the coming months, but Man Utd are in the race.
