Manchester United are grappling with multiple injury worries as they push for Champions League qualification. The Red Devils secured a 3-2 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League at the weekend, climbing to fourth in the table.

The triumph at the Emirates Stadium means Michael Carrick has maintained a perfect record in his opening two fixtures since taking over from Ruben Amorim in the Old Trafford hot seat.

Focus now shifts to the weekend, where United will be looking to maintain their winning momentum and strengthen their Champions League qualification ambitions. Fulham will travel to Old Trafford for Sunday afternoon's Premier League encounter.

Nevertheless, Carrick could be without several players due to fitness issues for the fixture, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Patrick Dorgu

Patrick Dorgu picked up a suspected hamstring problem during United's victory over Arsenal at the weekend, despite netting a crucial goal at the Emirates Stadium.

Some reports have indicated that the Denmark international could be sidelined for approximately 10 weeks. Michael Carrick expressed his hope that Patrick Dorgu's injury was merely cramp following the victory over Arsenal.

“Pat’s been a big player for us, obviously he’s scored two goals but in terms of the threat and athleticism and quality, he’s been immense down the side with Luke [Shaw] against two teams that ask a lot of questions.

“I am delighted for him because the two goals he’s scored are very different goals. It's nice to see him smiling and happy. He obviously came off with, hopefully, a little bit of cramp, hopefully, it's nothing worse.

“At this stage, it's hard to tell, so we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it's not too bad.”

Joshua Zirkzee

Joshua Zirkzee has been absent from United's last two fixtures due to an unspecified injury that was predicted to sideline him for approximately two weeks.

As a result, the striker isn't anticipated to be back until some point in February, though whether he'll feature against Fulham at the weekend remains uncertain.

Matthijs de Ligt

Matthijs de Ligt has been out of action with a back problem since November, but is edging closer to making his comeback.

Carrick revealed that De Ligt had experienced a "setback" in his rehabilitation ahead of the Arsenal encounter, whilst confirming his optimism that the defender would be available again shortly.

"He had a bit of setback before I arrived, only small but he was a little bit slower than we had liked," said Carrick. "He’s getting closer and hopefully in the next couple of weeks he will be back and around it."
