The whole point of supporting a Football Club is to dream big, so let’s get carried away for a moment.
It’s been a whirlwind start to 2026 for Manchester United, with three different managers in the dugout.
And we have come to realise something during this span. This Manchester United team is pretty good!
Look around the Premier League. Do you see many better teams? We have beaten City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, and were on course to win at Aston Villa before an injury to Bruno Fernandes.

There is nobody to be scared of other than our own inconsistency and recent inability to defeat the ‘weak teams’. Our rivals are only more consistent – they are not better.
But this was under Ruben Amorim. What if new head coach Michael Carrick has a formula to defeat the ‘lesser sides’?
With 15 games remaining we are in a sprint to the finish line to earn Champions League football. But what if we can achieve more than that?
How many points will United get from our next five games?
It's been a perfect start for Michael Carrick, will it continue? Which games are you worried about?

Manchester United have won it from here before
When Michael Carrick took over as Manchester United head coach the club was in a dark place, eliminated from the FA Cup and lacking direction.
Carrick has brought belief back to the club with two momentous victories against City and Arsenal.
The club’s mantra will be ‘one game at a time’, and sensibly this is the right way to approach the situation. United could quite easily fall off and blow Champions League qualification entirely.
But let’s take the mental shackles off for a moment… Manchester United can win the Premier League title this season, and we have done it from this position before.
In the 1992/93 season Sir Alex Ferguson‘s side were 12 points behind the leaders in December, before going on to win by a margin of 10.
And then even more memorably, United repeated the feat in 1995/96 by hauling in the 12 point advantage held in the January by Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle. We won it by four points.
In 2025/26 Manchester United are in the exact same position, 12 points back from leaders Arsenal.
United are out of Europe, out of the domestic cups, and can totally focus on the Premier League fixtures one at a time. We would need to be near-perfect.
Is it crazy talk to think of the title? Absolutely. But it is possible? Yes.

Title wide open, too much to do?
Arsenal are notorious for bottling title advantages and there is fear already creeping into their game. Their supporters are just waiting for them to blow it.
City look uninspired this season too, and have not played like a team that deserve to win the title. They will drop more points over the coming weeks.
Despite all of this, Manchester United probably just have too much to do.
We are on a high after winning two successive games, but the most this group of players have managed all season was a three-game streak.
United recently drew against Wolves (H), Leeds (A) and Burnley (A), taking only three points from a possible nine.
If we had won these games we would be only six points behind Arsenal, and a title charge would feel a little more realistic.
In all probability, United have left themselves too much to do.
With no cup competitions and no standout team, it really does feel as though this talented group of players have actually allowed a genuine chance to win the title slip through their fingers this season.
And that’s crazy to say considering how low we all felt a few weeks ago.
How will Patrick Dorgu’s injury impact Manchester United’s season?
Who do you want to start in his place on the left wing?

The first blow has fallen
Amid the crazy talk of whether Manchester United might put a run together, the first setback has already befallen Michael Carrick and his staff.
In-form sensation Patrick Dorgu has sustained a hamstring injury that will keep him out for 10 weeks.
It is a major blow considering how well Dorgu played against City and Arsenal, and it weakens United’s attacking options.
United might be able to sustain one injury, but there is little room for error.
A tough result against Fulham this weekend might bring the dreamers back to an unwanted reality.
