Michael Carrick has had an immediate positive impact since his return to Manchester United, beating Manchester City and Arsenal in consecutive weeks.
The squad seems to appreciate Carrick’s coaching style, with Lisandro Martinez praising coaching staff after beating City and Harry Maguire praising Carrick for his impact after the Arsenal win.

While it is easy to point out Carrick’s inexperience, he has previously worked under Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as well as his three-year stint at Middlesbrough.
In just two games, it’s clear that he is not only a talented tactician, but also a good man manager.

Carrick is the latest disciple of Sir Alex Ferguson to enter management, and there was no one better than the legendary Scotsman at motivating his players.
According to The Sun, Carrick has quoted seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton when motivating players at Middlesbrough.

Michael Carrick has taken Man United back to basics
After a year of trying to squish and bend into Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation, Carrick has brought a refreshing simplicity back to United in the last two matches.
Carrick has stripped United’s style of play back to the basics, with training more focused on improving individual qualities instead of shape and formation.
Senne Lammens pointed this out, stating that Carrick hasn’t changed too much behind the scenes apart from emphasising that players should get the basics right, and the rest will follow.
