Manchester United star Andre Onana linked with return to former club after Turkey loan spell: Reports

Manchester United loanee Andre Onana has been linked with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan at the end of the season, as per reports. The Cameroon international is presently on loan at Turkish outfit Trabzonspor until the end of the 2025-26 season.

According to a report from Daily Mail (via Tribal Football), Onana's representatives are in talks with Inter Milan over a return to the club in the summer. The Serie A side are looking for a replacement for veteran shot-stopper Yann Sommer, and are considering a number of options for the position.

Andre Onana enjoyed a successful stint in Italy with the Nerazzurri, having joined the club as a free agent in the summer of 2022. He won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana, and helped the club reach the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2023. He moved to Manchester United after just a season in Italy for a reported fee of around £46 million, reuniting with Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Onana's time at Old Trafford went very turbulently, with the goalkeeper often on the receiving end of fan abuse over his uninspiring showings for the club. He played 102 times for the club, keeping 24 clean sheets before Ruben Amorim sanctioned a loan move to Trabzonspor for him last summer. He has played 15 times for the Turkish side, keeping three clean sheets.

Manchester United appear set to cut ties with the 29-year-old this summer, having already signed Senne Lammens as their long-term starting goalkeeper. They will be happy to recoup some of their initial investment in Onana to sell him in the summer.

Manchester United dealt significant blow with Dorgu injury: Reports

Manchester United have suffered a significant blow to their season after in-form star Patrick Dorgu suffered a hamstring injury in the win over Arsenal. The Denmark international was on target for the Red Devils as they won the game 3-2 at the Emirates on Sunday.

According to journalist Laurie Whitwell, Dorgu is set to spend the next ten weeks on the sidelines due to his hamstring injury. The youngster was forced off in the 81st minute of the win against Arsenal with what was suspected to be cramp but has now been found to have been an injury.

Patrick Dorgu was enjoying a fine start to life under new head coach Michael Carrick in a new-found attacking role. The 21-year-old scored in each of Carrick's first two games in charge and will be a big miss until the final weeks of the season.
