Desperation presents ‘last minute’ swoop for Liverpool player – Director now panicking

Earlier this month, TuttoSport were growing increasingly excited about Juventus possibly landing Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa.

The Turin newspaper went to the extent of saying the winger is willing to take a wage cut to push through a return to Juve.

There was also belief the Italian side can offer a loan with an obligation to buy, having had an initial bid rejected by Liverpool. At that point, the Reds were only looking at a permanent transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy.

There have been no developments on this front for two weeks. Now, Calciomercato IT cover Juve’s desperation to make attacking signings.

The Turin club have missed out on Jean-Philippe Mateta and Youssef En-Nesyri. Juve are attempting a complex deal to bring Randal Kolo Muani back, but the outlet believe Chiesa can also return to the club.

Why a Liverpool exit is still being targeted

Federico Chiesa

FRANKFURT, GERMANY – 22 OCTOBER, 2025: Federico Chiesa – UEFA Champions League, match SG Eintracht Frankfurt vs Liverpool FC at Deutsche Bank Park.

Bianconeri general manager Damien Comolli is somewhat panicking, with Luciano Spalletti in need of attacking additions. That is why a ‘last minute’ move for the Liverpool player can be made this month.

Contacts with Chiesa’s entourage remain active. He is interested in a switch and Juve can use that to iron out a quick move.

There is also hope that Liverpool will then be easier to negotiate with, once the club aware of the player’s desire. That’s based on the assumption that the Reds would ideally want to get rid of Chiesa, however.

AS Roma had also tried to sign Chiesa last summer, and the capital club remain in the race. Therefore, if Juve do make a move, the Giallorossi could also attempt to bring Chiesa back to Italy.

This could be a deadline day drama.
