The former Manchester United and Juventus star has struggled to find form since returning to football.

Paul Pogba's career at Monaco could come to a end just months after he relaunched his career with the French club.

In September 2023, while playing for Juventus, Pogba tested positive for DHEA - a banned hormone which can boost levels of testosterone - and was therefore suspended with immediate effect.

The former Manchester United star was handed an initial ban lasting four years but this was later reduced to 18 months, meaning he was able to return to the sport in March 2025.

In the summer of 2025, the Frenchman signed for Ligue 1 side Monaco, signed a two season deal that is set to keep him at the club until June 2027.

However, the move hasn't exactly gone to plan so far and it has now been reported that Pogba's time at Monaco could be approaching its end.

Since his arrival at Monaco last year, Pogba, who turns 33 in March, played just 30 minutes across three appearances with his new club.

The former France international has struggled with three separate injuries since returning to football, severely impacting his comeback and ruining his chances of making it to the World Cup this summer.

Because of this, a report from Spanish outlet SPORT has claimed that it's more likely than not that Pogba's future in football lies away from Monaco, as the French club is actively looking for ways to offload him in the near future.

Meanwhile another report from Goal added: "There is already a sense that his future in the principality is far from certain beyond the summer, as Monaco weigh up whether to cut their losses."

However, Pogba could have a golden opportunity to prove his worth to Monaco on Wednesday night as they face his former club Juventus during a dramatic night of Champions League action.

Pogba is expected to be available for selection for the match , but his recent injury record means that it is hard to say if he is now back for the long term.

When he arrived at Monaco, Pogba had to build up fitness ahead of his first appearance for the club which, after dealing with a thigh injury and an ankle sprain, on November 22 when he came off the bench for a five-minute cameo against at Rennes' in his first football in 26 months.

After that Pogba made another brief appearance during the win over Paris Saint-Germain before playing 21 minutes of the defeat to Brest in early December, his most recent appearance after a calf injury ruled him out of the following seven matches.
