Andy Cole has explained why he’s already such a big fan of Manchester United star Bryan Mbeumo, who has been quick to adapt to life at the biggest club in the Premier League.
After a topsy-turvy first half to the season and the sacking of Ruben Amorim, Manchester United have some reasons to be optimistic about their chances for the remainder of the season.
United may be out of every cup competition and without European football, but the Red Devils are currently fourth in the Premier League, and Michael Carrick has an objective set for Champions League football.

United beat title contenders Man City and Arsenal in the past two weeks, but, as Michael Owen warned, Carrick faced a different test when his side takes on teams like Fulham in the upcoming weeks.
The results in those games will determine whether United will be competing for a Champions League place ahead of next season. Carrick will be relying on his star players like Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo to take responsibility as they’ve done in recent matches.

Andy Cole excited by Man Utd star Bryan Mbeumo
Andy Cole is one of the greatest strikers to have played in the Premier League.
That’s why his opinion on football carries weight. Unlike other ex-players, Cole is always honest, and his criticisms aren’t personal.

The 54-year-old, who spent six years playing under Sir Alex Ferguson and winning the Treble in 1999, appeared on The Weekend Wrap, produced by Premier League Productions, when he revealed why he is such a big fan of Mbeumo.
Cole was talking after United’s 3-2 win over Arsenal at The Emirates when Mbeumo scored to make it 1-1 in the first-half. The game was decided by Matheus Cunha’s winner before stoppage time.
“Why I like Mbeumo, he wanted to play to Manchester United,” Cole said.
“That is a big, big plus. You see him out there and he’s desperate to play for Manchester United. He’s playing now, scoring goals, lots of energy. I respect that.
“Cunha as well, left out of the team the last two games, but he’s come in and scored the winner.”
Mbeumo has been one of United’s best performers throughout the season, which explains why he is topping the club’s goalscoring charts.
Mbeumo was missed by United during Cameroon’s AFCON campaign. Now, he is back with a bang, scoring goals and receiving praise from one of the best goalscorers the Premier League has seen.

Andy Cole’s first season at Man Utd
Cole arrived at United in January 1995, midway through the 1995/96 campaign.
The defining moment in his first season was in March when he scored five goals in a 9-0 demolition of Ipswich Town. Cole became the first player in Premier League history to score five goals in a single match.
He made 18 appearances and scored 12 goals for United that season.
Mbeumo should better Cole’s tally as he’s currently on nine goals in 18 matches, with plenty of games to play in the league before the end of the season.
