Report: Man United considering shock move for another Chelsea attacker after Cole Palmer links

While any potential incomings look increasingly unlikely at Chelsea between now and the deadline on February 2, Manchester United are keen to sign a new attacker.

Michael Carrick has replaced Ruben Amorim as interim manager at Man United until the end of the season, and the former Boro gaffer has guided United to two wins over Manchester City and Arsenal.

A spectacular start, but injuries are mounting. Reports emerged this week that Patrick Dorgu has been ruled out for 10 weeks, and Carrick’s men are in the market to replace him. Cole Palmer was linked.

That has since been rubbished by numerous sources, including Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol. Liam Rosenior also rubbished the reports, confirming that England star Palmer was “untouchable” and wasn’t for sale.

Say Morgan Rogers signs for Chelsea – who are you dropping from the XI to fit him in?

Rosenior reiterated that Palmer remains happy at Chelsea, even if Palmer has shown frustration with injury of late. Following that news, Man United are also after another Chelsea player and this one is ‘available’.

Man United eye shock move for Chelsea’s Tyrique George

According to The Mail, Man United’s INEOS prefer Premier League players and that has led them to identify two players as possible targets. Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye is an option for United this month.

As is Chelsea outcast Tyrique George, who has not made a single appearance under Liam Rosenior. The winger almost left Stamford Bridge in the summer, inches away from joining Fulham for a £22m fee.

A four-time England U21 international, George boasts huge potential but has not been given the chance to prove that ever since Chelsea’s Conference League campaign. Less than 500 minutes so far, this season.

Man United are considering a move for George, with a fee likely to be smaller than the one Fulham almost paid in the summer. Since then, George has opened his Champions League account, against Ajax.

Man United aren’t the only club to show interest in George

It would be a surprise. While George is a talent and clearly has potential given he only turns 20 next month, the winger needs the platform to go and do it. Will he get the right stage to shine at United?

What’s a fair price for George – and are you selling to THEM? 🫨

Would be a surprise, this one.

It feels like he would be jumping from one club to another, but struggling with the same problem. Yes, Man United have Dorgu injured and less attacking options than Chelsea, but he wouldn’t be first choice.

It might suit George to go on loan until the end of the season before then committing to a permanent exit. Frank Lampard asked to take him to Coventry, but nothing materalised. It might have made sense.
