A first-half goal from Rasmus Hojlund wasn’t enough as Napoli suffered defeat against Chelsea to crash out of the Champions League.
Chelsea secured a place in the Champions League Round of 16 with a 3-2 win over Serie A champions Napoli on Wednesday night.
Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 19 minutes of play.
After the half-hour mark, the hosts turned the game on its head in a matter of 10 minutes, thanks to goals from Antonio Vergara and Rasmus Hojlund.

For Hojlund’s goal, Mathias Olivera crossed the ball early for the Dane to convert with a left-footed shot at the near post.
The Italian giants created very little in the second half as Chelsea forced a comeback to win 3-2, following a second-half brace from Joao Pedro.

With Napoli out of the Champions League, Hojlund’s goal against Chelsea means his European campaign for 2025/26 ends with three goals.

Former United midfielder Scott McTominay scored four goals in the Champions League this season, but the Scotland international was unable to help his teammates against Chelsea as their European campaign ended in tears.
Napoli would have set an objective to reach the Champions League knockouts, so this will come as a major disappointment for Antonio Conte’s side.
