Man United transfer news LIVE - Cole Palmer, striker move, Yan Diomande latest

Cole Palmer

Cole Palmer is being linked with a move to Man United

Welcome to the MEN's transfer blog on Thursday, January 29.

The weekend is almost upon us, and United will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run to three games when they face Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday. Wins over Manchester City and have lifted side to fourth in the table.

Off the pitch, the January transfer window remains open until Monday, February 2, with a 7pm deadline. United have been quiet so far, but there could still be a few twists to come.

Chelsea star Cole Palmer is one of the names circulating in recent days, while Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton and Yan Diomande have also been linked with a move to the club.

With that said, we’ll keep you updated with the latest news right here.

Yan Diomande 'fee'

Man United are said to have registered their interest in Diomande with RB Leipzig last month.

However, the Bundesliga side are reluctant to lose Diomande at this stage of his career and will demand at least €100m (£87m) for a summer sale, with that figure potentially rising to €120m (£104m).

The Guardian report that Man United are considering a 'surprise' move for Rennes striker Mohamed Kader Meite.

The 18‑year‑old’s representatives are said to have been contacted over a potential move, with United hoping to land Meite for around €30million (£26m).

Chelsea star Cole Palmer is linked with and there's one transfer from 2014 that could provide United fans with hope of a move materialising.

It is well-documented that Palmer is a childhood United fan - something which if a move begins to formulate.

Now, 12 years ago, there was another United fan playing for Chelsea - Spaniard Juan Mata. The classy midfielder won the World Cup with Spain in 2010 and after impressing at Valencia with the likes of David Villa and David Silva, he earned a move to the Premier League with Chelsea.

United would've known Mata was a big fan of the club from when negotiations began, so the lure of joining his dream club would've made the process a lot smoother. Now, with Palmer, United could look to exploit the same loyalties and get Palmer on board at the club.

The Sun are reporting that Palmer is unhappy in London and a return to his homeland may be on the cards, although a return to City is not happening.
