Manchester United could look to land one of the Premier League's leading young English talents in the summer transfer window, per reports - with a move for Chelsea's Tyrique George potentially in the offing.
United have been quiet on the player recruitment side of this window, though it did see manager Ruben Amorim sacked and Michael Carrick eventually brought in until the end of the season, following a short caretaker spell by Darren Fletcher.
Although there will likely be no incomings at Old Trafford in the rest of the January transfer window, it doesn't mean that planning isn't going ahead for the summer market - and that could see United make a move for Chelsea teenager George after he fell out of the first-team picture.
Report: Tyrique George Could Make Surprise Man Utd Move
Tyrique George
The report by the Daily Mail states that INEOS' preference to bring in proven Premier League stars means that George is under consideration.
The teenage star, 19, is free to leave Chelsea and that could see him swap west London for the north west, in what would be a surprising deal.
George joined Chelsea's academy at the age of eight years old, signing a new deal with the club in June 2024, before making his debut just two months later.
All in all, he's already featured 37 times for the first-team, scoring six goals - including a strike against Ajax back in October in the Champions League, once in the FIFA Club World Cup over the summer as Chelsea won the trophy, as well as a crucial goal that saw the Blues move into the Champions League spaces in April against Fulham.
However, George's latest appearance in the Premier League only came back in October, a late cameo in a 2-1 defeat to Sunderland.
United could be able to offer the 'explosive' London-born talent improved game time, away from cup competitions, which would be a huge influence on his decision.
Man Utd Have Shown They Want to Develop Youth Players in Recent Years

Largely, United are committed to giving younger players first-team minutes.
Ayden Heaven, Leny Yoro, Kobbie Mainoo, Tyler Fredricson, Bendito Mantato, Shea Lacey and Jack Fletcher are all players aged 20 and below who have made an appearance for the Red Devils at least once this season.
George would fall into that category, and with goals in the Champions League and Premier League, his experience could go a long way.
Should United sign him, he could feature well off the left, with the Red Devils having failed to replace Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho - the latter having moved to Stamford Bridge, ahead of George in the pecking order in west London in a coincidental twist.
