Nottingham Forest have waved goodbye to Douglas Luiz after the midfielder was recalled by Juventus.
Luiz has quickly got himself hooked up with a new club, signing for Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent.
The midfielder played 14 times for Forest, and with the club seemingly unwilling to sign him, all parties agreed a mutual split was the best thing to do.
Luiz was signed by Edu, who has courted him for many years, but sadly for the Brazilian, things haven’t gone according to plan at Forest.
This could be a HUGE mistake by Nottingham Forest!

Douglas Luiz reacts after leaving Nottingham Forest
There was a bit of a theory that Luiz didn’t want to be at Forest, but his classy message to supporters goes a long way towards dispelling that notion.
Shortly after his move to Aston Villa was confirmed, Luiz took to Instagram to post a very classy message to the fans, which read: “Thanks for everything. Great fans, club and players. All the best, Forest.”
Sadly, Luiz was unable to oust Elliot Anderson or Ibrahim Sangare from the starting eleven and in a World Cup year, the midfielder clearly wants to play regular football.

Murillo was one of those players, and it seems clear that the pair struck up quite a rapport, with the centre-back saying: “So happy for you my brother.”
Luiz leaving Forest could be a decision that the club lives to regret, with central midfielders now in short supply, should Dyche’s squad pick up injuries or suspensions.
Only time will tell how costly this proves, but it’s clear that Luiz’s face never really fit in the eyes of the current head coach at the City Ground.
