Jose Mourinho pales in comparison with Man Utd-linked boss’‘striking’man-management, says Morgan Schneiderlin

Morgan Schneiderlin has admitted that not even Jose Mourinho or Louis van Gaal could rival the man-management aura of one Manchester United-linked manager.

The 36-year-old former defensive midfielder endured an ill-fated spell at Old Trafford after the Red Devils signed him from Southampton in 2015 for a reported £25m fee.

Morgan Schneiderlin managed only 47 appearances for Manchester United and the former France midfielder netted once and registered one assist for the Red Devils.

The ex-Southampton star lifted the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal in 2016 before the former Barcelona and United manager was sacked by the Premier League club.

Schneiderlin would continue to play under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford and the former Strasbourg and Everton midfielder lifted the Europa League trophy with Man Utd in 2017.

The former Everton midfielder admitted the best experience that he had under any manager was under ex-Southampton and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

However, Schneiderlin admitted that United-linked Carlo Ancelotti was the best man-manager that he ever had ahead of the likes of Jose Mourinho or Louis van Gaal.

“My best experience was with Pochettino, but Ancelotti’s man management was striking,” he told FourFourTwo magazine.

Morgan Schneiderlin’s experience with Jose Mourinho during his time under the former Man Utd manager

Schneiderlin might have been offloaded from Old Trafford under Mourinho’s watch, but the ex-Red Devils midfielder was in awe at the management of the ‘Special One.’

“I was impressed by Mourinho’s training sessions, his frankness and the clarity of his analysis,” he said.

“I didn’t play for him much, but thought he was a top coach, and he’s not as defensive as people say.”

Schneiderlin would play for the likes of Nice, Konyaspor and AE Kifisia before the former Man Utd and Everton star retired from professional football in 2024.
