Thomas Frank has ‘barricaded himself’ – Manager trying to stop 2 Tottenham transfers

On Wednesday, TuttoSport were strangely confident about Tottenham’s stance over Randal Kolo Muani.

Juventus are keen on bringing the Frenchman back on loan from Paris Saint-Germain. This would require Spurs to terminate their loan and the Turin newspaper were sure that he will leave the London club. Juve were fairly certain that the striker also wants to depart Tottenham.

This was giving a lot of optimism to the Bianconeri, who are desperate to sign a striker. They have missed out on Youssef En-Nesyri and Jean-Philippe Mateta, leading them to pursue an unlikely move for Kolo Muani.

Today’s TuttoSport reports Juve and Tottenham will meet today to discuss Kolo Muani’s possible exit.

There is belief that Spurs had initially given signs of openness to letting Kolo Muani depart. Despite that, Thomas Frank is emerging as the real obstacle in Juve’s possible deal.

This is because the Dane is said to have ‘barricaded himself’ and isn’t letting the Frenchman leave for Italy.

Frank maintains the same stance regarding Mathys Tel, who has drawn links to AS Roma. The manager excluded the ex-Bayern Munich player from the Champions League squad last week, despite him showing glimpses of quality. However, whilst those flashes are a positive point, Tel’s camp seemingly complaining to the French media on a regular basis must be an annoyance.

TuttoSport note that Frank doesn’t want his Tottenham attacking options to change. This is presented in stark contrast to the London club’s stance, who the Italian media believe are open to letting Kolo Muani leave.

The deal, therefore, is in a ‘delicate’ phase. Juve want to offer PSG the same terms as what Spurs signed Kolo Muani for in the summer. They feel a loan offer worth €5m should seal the move.

As pointed out on Wednesday, it is no surprise that Frank is blocking the 27-year-old’s departure. Tottenham are struggling with injuries across the squad, also making Tel an important player in attack.

TuttoSport are perhaps getting carried away as the Old Lady desperately seek a new striker.
