Manchester United are planning to recruit a French talent who has been scouted by Tottenham in recent weeks.
Tottenham Hotspur’s form in the Premier League has been terrible for over two months now. They are currently languishing 14th in the table, with boss Thomas Frank coming under tremendous pressure.
Spurs’ struggles scoring goals continued in the 2-2 draw with Burnley last weekend. Centre-backs Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero were on the scoresheet against Burnley at Turf Moor, with the latter netting a bullet header in the 90th minute to salvage a point for his side.
The Tottenham forwards have been goal-shy throughout the season, barring Richarlison, who was having a decent time in front of goal before he got injured earlier this month. At present, Thomas Frank has been forced to rely on a half-fit Dominic Solanke to spearhead Tottenham’s attack. Randal Kolo Muani, who is still searching for his first Premier League goal, has been linked with a return to Juventus.
As such, Spurs are scouring the market for attacking reinforcements. Recent reports suggest that the north Londoners are among several Premier League clubs to have scouted Rennes sensation Mohamed Kader Meite in recent weeks. The 18-year-old is enjoying a breakout season in Ligue 1, netting three goals and supplying two assists in 17 appearances thus far.

Manchester United step up interest in Mohamed Kader Meite
According to The Guardian journalist Ed Aarons on X, Manchester United are considering stepping up their interest in Mohamed Kader Meite. They have held talks with the Rennes talent’s entourage, with the player expected to cost in the region of €30m. Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal are also interested in him.
Standing at 6ft 4ins tall, Kader Meite is an intimidating presence already at just 18 years old, demonstrating his physicality and power in Ligue 1. Despite having such a burly figure, he is technically strong and adept at controlling the ball in tight areas. Manchester United have recognised the Frenchman’s high potential and are ready to accelerate their interest in signing him before the transfer window slams shut.

Having scouted him in recent weeks, Tottenham must not allow Man United to have a free run at Kader Meite. Spurs have built a strong core of young talent in recent years, and the Rennes forward fits that bill perfectly. Having given plenty of first-team opportunities to young talents Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Wilson Odobert, Destiny Udogie and a few more in the last couple of seasons, the Lilywhites can attract the French talent to N17.
That said, Tottenham must compete with Man United for Kader Meite’s signing.
