Manchester United resume their Premier League campaign against Fulham and they will be bolstered by their new signing.

Michael Carrick faces a new test entirely this weekend when Manchester United face Fulham as the Red Devils will be strong favourites for the first time in his tenure.

United thrived as underdogs in their recent wins over Manchester City and Arsenal, but all the pressure was on the opposition to win those matches.

Having climbed up to fourth in the Premier League table, United should be full of confidence for the clash against Fulham.

But Sunday’s opponents have also been active in the January transfer market and will be bolstered by the arrival of Oscar Bobb.

Fulham sign Oscar Bobb ahead of Man United showdown

United drew 1-1 with Fulham in the reverse Premier League fixture, but both teams have changed so much since that meeting in August.

Not only in terms of managers, but also personnel. As per Fabrizio Romano, Fulham have struck a £27 million deal for Manchester City youngster Oscar Bobb, with the move set to be finalised in time for the match.

The 22-year-old will now join Marco Silva’s side, and he could make his debut against United where he would be eager to impress against an old rival.

Fulham sold Lisandro Martinez’s rival Adama Traore this week, and it seems Bobb has arrived as his replacement.

Pep Guardiola was a big admirer of Oscar Bobb

Bobb broke through at City, but the recent signing of Antoine Semenyo pushed him down the pecking order.

It seems Guardiola did not show enough faith in Bobb to keep him at the Etihad Stadium, but the City boss did speak highly of the youngster.

“I have a lot, a lot of incredible, good opinions about him,” Guardiola said about Bobb in November, as quoted by BBC Sport.

“His intuition is extraordinary. The moment he frees his mind he can do it.”

United will have to be wary of Bobb’s threat on Sunday, especially as he will be looking to hit the ground running at his new club.
