“Out of the club’s price range” – Exclusive claims big Chelsea transfer won’t happen: fans will …

The Daily Mirror today have an article from John Cross which claims that Manchester United “know” they won’t be signing Cole Palmer next summer, despite recent rumours the attacker wants to leave and go back to Manchester.

“Manchester United will not be signing Cole Palmer this summer. United bosses know the England and Chelsea star is out of the club’s price range,” the piece opens. After massive spending on Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in the summer, United are not in a position to pay the vast fee it would take to buy Palmer, even if he were pushing for a move.

Cole Palmer needs fitness and form, not a transfer

It’s been pretty clear to us for a while that there rumours are all rather spurious. The sums of money are too big, Chelsea won’t want to sell, and it’s not even clear that the player wants to leave anyway.

The problem with is Cole is that he’s not happy. That is true. But he’s not unhappy because he wants to leave Chelsea, he’s unhappy because he’s playing badly. And he’s playing badly because he’s not fit.

Solve the fitness, you solve the form. Solve the form and you solve the happiness. He made a great first step last night with two assists off the bench. Keep that up and these rumours will all evaporate before you know it.

In other news…

Chelsea turned round a losing score and came back to win against Napoli last night, no mean feat and just the third time that’s happened all season.

Liam Rosenior was asked about which teams his side could face in the next round, and he gave a typically diplomatic answer pointing out that all our potential opposition will be tough.
