Manchester United youngster Sekou Koné is set to depart on loan with FC Lausanne-Sport until the end of the season.
That’s according to journalist Marc Mechenoua. The journalist reports that the deal is at the paperwork stage, with Koné having already been training with his new teammates for several days ahead of the move.
Koné has had something of a disrupted season after suffering a concussion during a National League Cup tie back in August.
He was then left out of Manchester United’s under-21 win earlier this month. Reports after that game stated that his future was yet to be determined.
He was sent to Lausanne, who are also owned by INEOS, to train and maintain his fitness. He has not been registered to play with the Swiss side as yet. But according to Mechenoua, that is in the pipeline.
His information is that the young Malian prospect will leave Manchester United until the end of the season. He’s been training with Lausanne for several days awaiting the completion of the paperwork on the deal.
Neither side appear to be in a rush to get it done at this point. But that is likely to do with the fact the Swiss Super League’s transfer window doesn’t close until February 16th. Given the paperwork is being done, it’s unlikely that Kone’s exit will require that much time.
