Manchester United have been riding the crest of a wave in the Premier League since Michael Carrick's appointment. The new man at the helm has secured two superb results in his two games in charge thus far, seeing off both Manchester City and Arsenal.
It's Fulham up next for the Red Devils on Sunday, before deadline day looms into view on Monday. Plenty of business is expected up and down the top-flight before then as clubs look to get their squads in order before the final push towards the end of the season.
It's no different at Old Trafford, where incomings and arrivals have been in short supply so far this month. One thing we do know for certain is that Casemirowill not be a United player next term after his exit was confirmed last week.
Palmer situation takes fresh twist
Despite reports stating that Cole Palmer is unhappy in London and would be keen on a move to Manchester United, it now appears as though a move will not be happening – either now or in the summer.
As [Mirror Football reported earlier today](http://Mirror Football takes a look at two of the latest transfer stories breaking out of Old Trafford.), United bosses are aware that Palmer is out of their price range. Having spent £135m on Bryan Mbeumo and Mathues Cunha in the summer, the attacking midfield area is not seen as a priority.

The focus for United is instead on bringing in a world class defensive midfielder to replace the outgoing Casemiro. Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba are good Premier League options but all come with a massive price tag. Further, it's previously been reported that Anderson would prefer a move to Manchester City.
Fee agreed for United target
Hoffenheim have agreed a fee to sign reported Manchester United target Michael Noonan from Shamrock Rovers. A whole host of Premier League clubs were said to be interested in acquiring the teenager's signature after starring at the U17 World Cup, including United.
As well as his exploits on the international stage, he scored a famous goal for Rovers against Molde in the Europa Conference League, becoming the youngest player ever to do so in the league.

Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho are great examples of youngsters who've ended up thriving in the Bundesliga, which is renowned for its physical demands.
The bid for Noonan is reportedly £1.5m and all that's left to complete is personal terms and the 17-year-old's approval. Celtic are also huge admirers of Noonan but have also missed out despite putting a bid in for him.
