Manchester United are eyeing a blockbuster summer move to Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure to strengthen their attack, according to Sports Boom.
The Red Devils splashed over £200m on strengthening their attack last summer to bring in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, but they also allowed all of Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund to depart, leaving them with minimal options in attack.
With the club hopeful of qualifying for the Champions League next season, they will need additional options in attack, and Ivory Coast international Toure has now emerged as a serious option for the summer window.
Man Utd Eyeing Bazoumana Toure
Hoffenheim defender Bazoumana Toure defends
Toure, who has been recorded as the fastest player in the Bundesliga this season, has lit up the German top flight with Hoffenheim, registering two goals and four assists in 15 appearances so far alongside a string of top performances.
He also stood out for the Ivory Coast during the AFCON tournament earlier this month, and now he has emerged as a major target for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who are plotting a bid for him in the summer.
However, Man Utd scouts have been watching him regularly and are prepared to compete with them for his signature. It's understood that the recruitment team at Old Trafford see him as the 'missing piece' for their attacking jigsaw, while the player feels he will be able to cope with the physical demands of the Premier League.
Hoffenheim would demand a record-breaking transfer fee to allow the 19-year-old to depart, and they plan to be tough negotiators for any potential transfer. A €55m (£47.5m) price tag has been put on his head, which would exceed the £40m they received from Newcastle for Joelinton.
Man Utd have committed to a 'total offensive' for his signature and the race is now on ahead of the summer transfer window.
Toure Would Be Excellent INEOS Signing
Sir Jim Ratcliffe
INEOS have made it clear since their arrival at Old Trafford that they want to bring in the best young players to the club to build for the future, and Toure suits that perfectly.
However, much like Mbeumo and Cunha, he is already capable of stepping into the first-team picture and making an impact, which should be the bare minimum for any signing this summer, regardless of which manager eventually comes in permanently.
The club have also been linked with a move for Toure's international teammate Yan Diomande, but after he admitted that a move to Liverpool is his preference, it now seems as though their attention may have been move elsewhere.
