Former Manchester United star Teddy Sheringham has backed the Red Devils to bring Rasmus Hojlund from his loan at Napoli. He believes that the striker is a top player and will help the side at Old Trafford this season.

Speaking to MrQ, Sheringham claimed that Manchester United need a forward this season, and they should consider bringing him back to give him another go in the first team. He added that the change in manager could see the Danish star push to impress once more at the club and said (via Mirror):

"Yes, I do. I believe that things change very quickly at football clubs, especially when there’s different people in charge of those football clubs. Who knows what relationship Michael Carrick has with players like Rasmus Højlund? He might have a way of getting the best out of him."

"He’s already on the books at the football club, so Højlund will come into Carrick’s equation in the summer. I don’t care what’s gone on before, he’s obviously a top footballer, otherwise he wouldn’t have got to Manchester United in the first place. So I would say bring him back in, let’s give him a chance to see where he’s at and see where his mindset is when he comes back."

However, Sheringham said that the question is whether Hojlund wants to come back and have the hunger to lead the attack for the Red Devils. He said:

"We need to find out if he has still got the fire in his belly to play for Manchester United? Does he think he’s good enough himself? Does he want it? You go from there. Like I’ve said, things change very quickly in football. There’s a different manager in charge now, and there could be another different one in the summer who has a whole new outlook, so why not?”

Hojlund joined Napoli on loan this season and has been in fine form under Antonio Conte. He scored against Chelsea this week in the UEFA Champions League, taking his tally to 10 for the season in all competitions.

Rasmus Hojlund is driving everyone crazy at Manchester United, says Chelsea legend

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola made a bold claim about Rasmus Hojlund in December, saying that his form was driving everyone crazy at Manchester United. He believes that the loan move was the second blunder made by the Red Devils after selling Scott McTominay to Napoli and said:

"Hojlund is driving everyone crazy, even people at Manchester United. After McTominay left because of [Erik] ten Hag's reckless decisions, they let go of a striker like that."

Hojlund's replacement, Benjamin Sesko, has managed to score just five goals this season, with four of them coming in the 18 Premier League matches.
