Tottenham Hotspur are having a difficult time in the Premier League, lying 14th in the table. Thomas Frank continues to buy himself time in north London, despite Spurs dropping points last weekend to Burnley.
The Lilywhites did respond with a comprehensive 2-0 away victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League to make it directly to the knockout rounds, but that performance in Germany would mean nothing if they do not build on it against Manchester City on Sunday.
Tottenham have only signed Conor Gallagher and Souza so far in the winter transfer window, but remain hopeful of adding more to Thomas Frank’s squad. They must accelerate their transfer business and reinforce their attacking unit that hasn’t clicked this season. Creating chances and scoring goals has been major issues in Thomas Frank’s system, while injuries to key attackers Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison haven’t helped the team’s cause either.
On top of that, Brennan Johnson’s shock departure to Crystal Palace at the start of the New Year has left Spurs light in attack. Thus, they do appear to require a fresh injection of quality in attack.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham are frontrunners in the race to sign CA Osasuna forward Victor Munoz and are ‘prepared to pay’ his €40m release clause in his contract to secure his signing as quickly as possible, thus avoiding a bidding war.
The Spaniard was signed by CA Osasuna for €5m in the last summer transfer window from Real Madrid. He has been one of the breakout stars in La Liga this season, playing all across the frontline for Osasuna. Victor Munoz has bagged four goals and as many assists in 23 appearances across all competitions, leading to several clubs taking notice of his talent.
The report adds that Tottenham are aware of Real Madrid’s intentions to trigger Munoz’s €8m buy-back clause in the summer and then sell it to the highest bidder. So, they want to act now and sign the forward ahead of his former club, although other European outfits are vying for the player’s signature.

Despite being only 22, Munoz has proven to be a near-complete package in La Liga this season. The Spaniard has not only impressed with his versatility, but also shown excellent vision, ability to link up with his teammates, creative nous and goalscoring touch.
He can provide Tottenham with the cutting edge in attack that they’ve been missing most of the campaign. Also, the Osasuna talent can develop further and take his game to the next level under proper coaching and guidance at N17. It could be viewed as a bit of risky signing for the north Londoners, though, given that this is Munoz’s first real season in the Spanish top-flight.
That said, the Hotspur Way chiefs’ willingness to pay the €40m release clause now shows how concretely interested they are in Munoz.
