Everton have been linked with Brooks Norton-Cuffy.

A defender linked with a move with Everton is set to complete a transfer before the January window closes.

The Toffees have been credited with an interest in Brooks Norton-Cuffy of Genoa this month. The right-back is a product of Arsenal’s academy but saw his first-team chances limited at the current Premier League leaders and moved to Italy to bolster his chances of first-team football.

Norton-Cuffy has been a regular starter for Genoa this season, making 22 appearances in all competitions. But Genoa have been open to a sale to raise funds, which has led to several clubs exploring a possible deal.

Everton have looked at bolstering the right-hand side of defence. Jake O’Brien, who is a natural centre-back, has chiefly operated in the role. Nathan Patterson has played in the position recently, having been down the pecking order at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Premier League rivals Newcastle United and West Ham United have also reportedly explored a potential deal for Norton-Cuffy. However, the 22-year-old looks set to earn himself a move to a European giant. According to Fabrizio Romano, Serie A leaders Inter Milan are in ‘advanced’ talks’ over signing Norton-Cuffy before Monday’s deadline.

Romano posted on X: “Inter in advanced talks to sign Brooke Norton-Cuffy from Genoa on permanent deal. Surprise move made today after PSV Eindhoven insist on Ivan Perisić to stay.”

It remains to be seen whether Everton will make a signing in the January transfer window. The Blues, 10th in the Premier League, have also been exploring the possibility of bringing in a new striker. They have shown an interest in Fenebahce’s Youssef En-Nesyri, However, the Morocco international is said to be reluctant to complete a move to England.

Jhon Duran, also of Fenerbahce, has recently been linked with Everton.
