On Thursday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported on negotiations between Juventus and Manchester United for Joshua Zirkzee.
This came right after the newspaper were confident that the Red Devils had opened up to loaning out the Dutchman.
The striker was being seen as an alternative to Tottenham’s Randal Kolo Muani. The Frenchman was keen on returning to Turin but a deal was proving difficult due to Spurs’ stance about terminating his loan.
Now, Juventus’ move for the Manchester United player could be heating up. Zirkzee’s chase finds front page feature in today’s TuttoSport.
The newspaper believe the 24-year-old isn’t at the centre of the project at Old Trafford. This is seen as an important assist for the Bianconeri, who see him as a good fit for Luciano Spalletti’s system.
They are looking to sign Zirkzee on an initial loan with a possible option to buy. The aim would be to discuss terms of a permanent deal with Manchester United in the summer.
No offer has been put forward but Juve have a pretty good working relationship with the player’s agent Kia Joorabchian. He also represents Douglas Luiz, who was loaned out to Aston Villa some days ago after a failed spell at Nottingham Forest.
Joorabchian can help Juve organise a deal ‘in a few hours’ even if time is running out.
Roma haven’t made any recent moves for the Netherlands international either. This is giving Juve all the hope they need to proceed with a late move.
It doesn’t end there as today’s Gazzetta also add some info of their own.
The pink daily mention Manchester United’s willingness to execute a loan deal. This has raised Juve’s eyebrows. A final decision will be made by Luciano Spalletti, who currently wants more of a proper number nine than Zirkzee.
