‘Comolli doesn’t stop’ – Tottenham not exactly being met with transfer respect

On Friday morning, TuttoSport considered Juventus’ chase for Tottenham’s Randal Kolo Muani to be all but over.

This was largely due to Thomas Frank, who wanted to keep the striker. Even if the London club had initially opened up to terminating his loan, the Dane wasn’t keen on making changes to his attacking battery.

This was making Juve consider alternatives, with Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee seen as a target.

It now seems like Juve haven’t really given up on the deal with Tottenham (and Paris Saint-Germain).

Gazzetta dello Sport report that Bianconeri CEO Damien ‘Comolli doesn’t stop’ and he is still waiting to sign the Frenchman.

Tottenham have told Kolo Muani and his entourage that his loan will not be terminated. Despite that, Juve are relying solely on the striker’s desperation to return to Turin to get a deal ironed out.

The 27-year-old is ready to ‘step up’ the pressure and convince Spurs to let him depart. This is giving many hope in Turin, where they will have to find an agreement with PSG after Tottenham let Kolo Muani depart.

All of this feels like a case of the Bianconeri simply trying to force things out of desperation. They have missed out on Youssef En-Nesyri and Jean-Philippe Mateta and still need a striker.

Time is running out and they are running out of possible replacements too. Kolo Muani feels like a convenient name because of his past at the club but everything feels too complex right now.

It should be said that things will have to change drastically for Juve to sign the striker. Tottenham have an injury crisis ongoing and letting Kolo Muani leave will only make things worse.
