Manchester United are blessed with talented young wing-backs and Diego Leon is only the tip of the iceberg.
Right now, Carrington has more talent than it has had for years, and the full-back positions are no different for Manchester United.
Harry Amass is on loan, but remains a player set to play a big part in the future of the club, especially now that Ruben Amorim and his 3-4-3 system have left.
Meanwhile, United are pleased with Diego Leon and his development is reportedly going quicker than expected, despite some struggling appearances in the U21s.
Jaydan Kamason, James Overy, and Bendito Mantato are all other full-back options, but the best of the lot is a player who is only really getting recognition now.

Yuel Helafu deserves his praise for Manchester United
When it comes to the academy’s best performers this season, one unsung talent is Yuel Helafu, despite the 17-year-old being excellent all campaign.
Despite being a first-year scholar at the club, Helafu has already earned first-team recognition, featuring in training earlier this season.

The rapid rise of Helafu has caught United off guard, with many around the club shocked by how quickly he has developed, taking to U21 football with ease.
Despite Helafu drawing Aaron Wan-Bissaka comparisons among his teammates, the teenager is actually a lot more similar to Noussair Mazraoui, being excellent on the ball and off it.
He has enjoyed a great season, but after the winter break, Helafu has kicked on another level, shining at left and right back for the academy, and his passing range and composure are those of a seasoned professional.
At the current rate he is going, Helafu could quickly become the standout full-back in the academy, and with Luke Shaw the sole option for Michael Carrick right now, perhaps Helafu will be picked to step up and provide depth.

Michael Carrick will love Helafu
Carrick looks more and more likely to secure the Manchester United manager position full-time, with it likely now in his hands after a dream start.
So it makes sense that he has been attending youth games, planning for the future beyond this season.
Helafu will be one who catches Carrick’s eye in this regard, given his ball security, passing, press resistance, and also his tackling and defensive work rate, which all add up to make him an excellent full-back.
Carrick seems to want every one of his players to be capable on the ball, so if he is looking for a new full-back, Helafu should be in contention, likely competing with Harry Amass on the left, although he is more natural on the right anyway.
