Is Liverpool v Newcastle United on TV? Online streaming plus injury and team news

Newcastle United latest news: How to watch Liverpool v Newcastle United, online streaming, TV channel and injury news.

The Magpies head to Anfield on Saturday (8pm kick-off) aiming for just their second ever Premier League win away at Liverpool and their first of any kind in over three decades. Fresh from their spirited draw away in Paris against PSG, Howe and his players will head to Merseyside with hope that they can register a famous win.

Arne Slot’s side, meanwhile, also won in the Champions League in midweek with a thumping 6-0 win over Qarabag at Anfield. The Red won the reverse fixture back in August with a 3-2 at St James’ Park.

They required a stoppage time goal to defeat the Magpies’ ten men on that occasion, though, after goals from Guimaraes and Will Osula had dragged the hosts back into the game from two goals down. Here, we take a look at everything fans need to know ahead of Newcastle United’s Premier League game against Liverpool:

Newcastle United injury and team news v Liverpool

The Magpies have a number of injury concerns to deal with this weekend. They will certainly be without Fabian Schar, Tino Livramento and Joelinton as they recover from their respective injury troubles.

On the latter’s fitness, Eddie Howe provided an update on Friday morning, confirming that he faces weeks, rather than months, on the sidelines: “He flew onto Barcelona after the game to get an injection into his groin. It was good news. The specialist feels he only needs one.

“That means his return could be quite quick, we're looking at weeks, not months. We're slightly unsure on the exact date but positive news.”

Joelinton’s fellow countryman, Bruno Guimaraes, remains a doubt to feature at Anfield. Guimaraes was an unused substitute in Paris in midweek after being forced to watch their defeat to Villa three days prior from the St James’ Park stands. On Guimaraes, Howe added: “Slightly unknown at the moment.

“I’d say he did really well to be with us in Paris - I think that is more down to him being desperate to be there and support the players. We did very, very light training and he participated in that, but it was next to nothing to be honest.

“He trained with us yesterday [Thursday] but that was more of a [fitness] test. We’ll see how he is today. This will be the day where we really decide.”
