Martin Baturina
Leeds United finished last year as one of the best teams in the Championship, recording one of the most impressive seasons in recent years. But going a step up to the Premier League was always going to be a difficult challenge.
Daniel Farke put together one of the most potent attacking units in the last campaign as the Whites finished with the most goals in the competition. Joel Piroe won the golden boot, finishing as the top scorer in the league. The striker continued his excellent record in the Championship, but people had serious reservations on if that would translate to the Premier League.

In the summer, there were signs that pointed to Piroe being sidelined before the season even began. The club decided to sign two new center forwards in Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. And the season has gone one with the 26-year old being limited to cameos off the bench and starts in cup competitions.
Joel Piroe could leave Leeds United this month
This month has seen a lot of interest in Joel Piroe; the striker who has a good goalscoring record, has been monitored by several clubs. Aside interest from sides in England, the Daily Record have reported that Piroe is drawing attention from Europe. Spanish side Real Betis and Serie A side Como are keeping tabs on the Leeds United man. They are not alone, as Rangers are also keen on a loan move for the 26-year old this month.
Piroe however, is happy at Elland Road according to reports, and is not looking to leave the club anytime soon. His current contract with Leeds is set to expire in 2027, which could factor in any transfer decision this month.

49ers should attempt swap deal for Martin Baturina
The club have a perfect opportunity to go after Como attacking midfielder Martin Baturina. Cesc Fabregas’ side has interest in Joel Piroe, and Leeds are admirers of the Croatian attacking midfielder. The 49ers should push for a deal that would see Baturina arrive at Elland Road, and move Piroe to Italy. It would be a deal that benefits both parties at this point of the season.
Martin Baturina has not played much for Como because of the form of Nico Paz this season, and Joel Piroe is in the same boat, having fallen down the pecking order in attack. It makes absolute sense for both sides to engage in a deal that swaps these players.
