Transfer windows and Nottingham Forest often go hand in hand, with countless memorable moments being created as a result of their business in the market.
From signing 30 players in the first season back in the Premier League, to £200m spending sprees, there’s not often a window that goes by without the Reds making any moves.
This January has been an extremely quiet one, given the club’s usual standards, with Lorenzo Lucca’s loan move from Napoli the only deal completed by Sean Dyche’s men to date.

However, with just a couple of days left in the window, it would be a surprise to no one if multiple deals were completed in an attempt to secure their top-flight status.
Numerous players have been linked with a move to the City Ground, but it remains to be seen how much the hierarchy spend, given the looming threat of another PSR punishment.
Nottingham Forest in talks to re-sign one fan-favourite
Over recent days, rumours have been swirling over a potential move for Inter Milan star Davide Frattesi, with Forest reportedly making an offer to land the midfielder.
It’s been reported that Dyche’s side have made an offer with an obligation to buy for the 26-year-old, who’s only started one Serie A game so far this campaign.

However, despite a possible agreement being in place with the two clubs, it’s down to the player whether he’s open to following Lucca to the East Midlands.
Frattesi isn’t the only midfielder in the hierarchy’s sights at present, with former fan-favourite Danilo another player who’s been in shock talks to return to the City Ground.
According to one Brazilian outlet, Botafogo owner John Textor has been in talks with the Reds over a sensational return for the midfielder in an effort to prevent paying the fee owed for the 24-year-old.
The midfielder only left the Reds during the summer window, but a return has been on the cards in recent days, but the report states that other members of the Brazilian club have blocked such a move.

It’s unclear whether any deal can be resurrected before Monday’s transfer deadline, with the reported deal costing Forest a fee in the region of £16.4m.
Why Danilo would be perfect for Jesus at Forest
Landing top-level Brazilian talents hasn’t been alien to Forest in recent seasons, as seen with the deal to land striker Igor Jesus from Botafogo during the summer window.

The 24-year-old arrived as part of a three-man transfer including Jair Cunha and Cuiabano, but it’s evident that the centre-forward has made the greatest impact of the trio.
Jesus has already racked up 30 appearances for the Reds since his summer switch, subsequently scoring 11 times - the most of any player in the current first-team squad.
His latest double against Ferencvaros in the Europa League secured Dyche’s side a place in the knockouts, with a two-legged tie against Fenerbahçe now set for the middle of February.
At times during his first few months in Nottingham, the attacker hasn’t received the praise he deserves for his showings, with his selfless hold-up play often going unnoticed.

However, it has seen him net key goals, with Danilo’s potential return to the City Ground handing him an added chance to end the season on 20 goals across all competitions.
The midfielder’s previous stint at the club saw him become a fan favourite with the Reds faithful, with the 24-year-old often popping up with moments of magic in crucial moments.
Goals against Southampton and Brighton at the end of the 2022/23 campaign helped secure the club’s top-flight status, with the current European adventure simply not possible without his contributions.
Danilo, who’s been dubbed “iconic” by Callum Castel, racked up 62 appearances during his two-and-a-half years in Nottingham, with a serious ankle injury disrupting his progress.

However, his tally of six assists across all competitions highlights the quality he offered within attacking areas, with Jesus potentially benefiting from his compatriot’s creativity.
Since returning to his homeland, the Brazilian has already racked up four assists from his first 17 appearances - showcasing he still possesses the quality he left with in forward areas.
His infectious smile and quality at the heart of the side will no doubt play on the heartstrings of the supporters ahead of a possible reunion before the window closes.
Whilst Frattesi is seemingly the player the hierarchy are targeting this month, the fanbase will no doubt prefer a return to the City Ground for the sensational Danilo.

Given the circumstances, it may be a tricky move to get over the line, but the prospect of the midfielder linking up with Jesus on Trentside is certainly an exciting one - which could steer the club clear of any relegation threat come the end of May.
