'Opportunities for him to go': David Moyes admits Everton star could now leave before Monday

The final days of the transfer window could actually prove to be fairly busy for Everton.

Questions still hang over whether Everton will actually see any new faces arrive on Merseyside before the deadline, though.

David Moyes may come out of the game on Saturday against Brighton & Hove Albion with a better perspective of what will be needed in the final days for their squad.

However, Moyes admitted Everton are unlikely to sign any players before the deadline strikes.

What players would you be happy to see Everton sell before Monday’s deadline? 👋

The 62-year-old Scotsman did not rule out players departing the club, though.

A number of players have barely featured for the Blues this season, and Moyes has now admitted that one in particular could depart.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Moyes has admitted Aznou could still depart Everton on loan before Monday evening.

“There’s opportunities for him to go and we’ll decide that in the next few days,” said Moyes.

“I’m not sure that he would get the opportunities in the position we bought him to play, so I need to think how I can do it. At the moment we’re not really mad to let too many people go because our squad isn’t big enough.

“But sometimes players want to go and play and I’m all for that if that’s the case.”

Seamus Coleman has urged Aznou to be patient at Everton and wait for his opportunity to come.

Although Vitaliy Mykolenko has failed to impress, the young left-back still finds himself behind the Ukraine international in Moyes’ thinking.

Aznou deserves more minutes at Everton

James Garner urged Moyes to play Aznou more often following his impact in the FA Cup game against Sunderland earlier this month.

The young Moroccan had an immediate impact against the Black Cats and kept the Blues alive up until the penalty shootout.

Despite this, Aznou continues to be overlooked for Mykolenko.

Everton fans have demanded for Aznou to play ahead of Mykolenko, but it seems as if the 62-year-old is not willing to budge.

After what he has shown in his few opportunities, it is a real shame that Aznou may be set to depart for the remainder of the term.
