Wolves have entered talks with a striker target amid Jorgen Strand Larsen exit links

Wolves are looking to add much-needed firepower to their attack as they hold talks with former Birmingham City and Southampton star Che Adams.

Rob Edwards is yet to oversee his first Molineux signing since returning to the club in November. Time is now against him, with just days left before the winter window closes, potentially leaving Wolves without any new personnel to see out the remainder of this agonising season.

The Old Gold remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with just eight points from 23 games. In that time, they have won once and scored a mere 15 goals.

Wolves ‘in talks’ with Scotland international Che Adams

On Friday, talkSPORT reported Wolves’ interest in Adams, who currently plays for Torino in Italy’s Serie A. Sky Sports have corroborated the news, claiming that the club are ‘currently in talks’ with Torino over a deal for their striker.

“Dialogue has been positive so far with Adams open to a Premier League return,” the report says.

The Scotland international joined Torino from Southampton in 2024, after helping them earn promotion to the Premier League following their play-off triumph. Adams scored 15 goals in the Championship for the Saints that season.

The 29-year-old’s contract in Turin is due to expire next summer, so the club could be tempted into a sale before the risk of him leaving as a free agent grows.

Che Adams ‘open to Premier League return’ as Jorgen Strand Larsen deal agreed

Sky Sports claim Adams is keen on returning to the Premier League, which could be an interesting prospect for Birmingham City fans. The Blues are looking to close the gap on the play-off places in the Championship, but should they miss out on a promotion shot, they could come up against Adams next season.

Wolves’ relegation fate is seemingly sealed, as they are now a whopping 18 points from safety. If the Old Gold drop to the Championship and Adams stays at Molineux, it could make for tasty derby encounters next season.

Adams signed for Birmingham City in the summer of 2016 and was sold three years later to Southampton in a £15 million deal.

Wolves’ conversations with Adams comes following uncertainty over the status of Jorgen Strand Larsen. The striker has been heavily linked with a move to Crystal Palace this window but all that was thrown into doubt when the Eagles moved to sign Evann Guessand on loan from Aston Villa.

However, a new report from BBC Sport claims that Palace have now ‘agreed a deal in principle’ to sign Strand Larsen. The deal in question has been claimed in the region of £50 million, which will see Wolves pocket a handsome profit.

Fabrizio Romano has corroborated this report, posting his trademark ‘here we go’ update in relation to Strand Larsen’s move to Selhurst Park.

“Crystal Palace agree deal to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves, here we go! Transfer fee will be £45m plus £5m add-ons. Story revealed this morning on bid improved now confirmed, all agreed club to club.”
