Sky Sports: Everton would allow Dwight McNeil to join Nottingham Forest on one simple condition

Panic buttons are being pressed across the Premier League as clubs enter the final hours of the transfer window.

Everton remain without a single addition this month despite the significant number of injuries that have been suffered on Merseyside.

Even from the early days of the window, Moyes made it clear that signings were unlikely given the nature of the January market.

That has certainly played out, but the 62-year-old is now failing to rule out any potential late departures before Monday night.

Nottingham Forest hold an interest in Dwight McNeil, with former Everton boss Sean Dyche keen to reunite with him once again.

Hours remain in the window and the Toffees have made their stance very clear to the Reds ahead of Monday’s deadline.

However, Forest will just not go away on the 26-year-old midfielder, with Dyche a big fan of the player.

According to Sky Sports, Forest are still considering a late move for McNeil, but they are aware of how difficult it would be to seal the move.

The report claims Everton would be willing to offload the midfielder before the deadline, but they would need to find a replacement before that.

Injury to Jack Grealish may well have brought an end to a possible departure for McNeil this window.

McNeil was slammed for his display against Leeds United earlier in the week, with his tracking back leaving a lot to be desired.

The 26-year-old may not be a big part of the plans on Merseyside, but, without a replacement, Everton simply cannot afford to allow these squad players to leave.

Tyler Dibling may have prevented McNeil’s departure

It has been a difficult start to life on Merseyside for Tyler Dibling, with minutes few and far between for the youngster.

Had he hit the ground running under Moyes, then perhaps McNeil would have been allowed to depart for Forest.

However, Moyes has been unable to rely on Dibling thus far and simply cannot look at the winger as a reliable option in the starting XI.

Moyes is demanding more from Dibling in an Everton shirt and until he’s able to do that, it may well prevent the likes of McNeil departing without a direct replacement.
