Man Utd centre-back Tyler Fredricson has picked up a calf injury, according to journalist Simon Peach.
The Press Association reporter has said that the defender could be sidelined for up to “four weeks”, ending any hopes of a loan move before Monday’s deadline.
Fredricson has made two appearances for the first team this season, and he has also been an unused substitute on multiple occasions.

However, the 20-year-old was expected to leave Old Trafford on a temporary basis this month, with Championship teams and Belgian Pro League clubs having reportedly enquired about his availability.
Fredricson will now stay at Carrington to work on his fitness before returning to training at the end of February or the beginning of March.
Man Utd’s switch to a back four will limit his chances
Interim manager Michael Carrick only requires two centre-backs, and he can call upon the likes of Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven, who are all currently available for selection.
Fredricson was, therefore, always going to struggle to get minutes, so a move away for the second half of the season made a lot of sense. Once he returns from injury, it looks like he will have to see out the campaign with the Under-21s.
Another centre-back is still on the treatment table
Like Fredricson, Matthijs de Ligt is not in contention, although the Dutchman is believed to be closing in on his comeback.
He has not played since the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in late November, but speaking before the win over Arsenal, Carrick said that de Ligt could be ready in a couple of weeks.
That suggests the 26-year-old should return for the match against Tottenham a week on Saturday if everything goes to plan.
