Sunderland striker offered to Serie A – €25m talks collapse elsewhere

Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor has now been offered to Napoli, as interest around the Premier League forward continues to grow across Europe.

Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari reports the Serie A side have been made aware of Isidor’s availability in recent hours. According to him, the Napoli hierarchy are assessing attacking profiles, and the Sunderland player has been proposed as an option.

This comes after a busy few weeks around Isidor’s name. Last week week, Paris FC explored a move for the 25-year-old, with reports in France suggesting figures close to €25m were discussed. That deal collapsed due to internal resistance at the French club.

Sunderland interest from Super Lig

More recently, Beşiktaş opened talks with Sunderland following Tammy Abraham’s exit. However, those discussions stalled quickly. Turkish media claimed Sunderland made it clear they would only consider offers above €25m, a stance that pushed the Super Lig side away. At that stage, the chances of an agreement were described as “close to zero”.

Napoli’s interest, for now, sits in a different category. Longari does not suggest an offer has been made, only that the player has been proposed as the Italian club assess the market.

From Sunderland’s point of view, there has been no indication of a change in position. The Black Cats are enjoying a strong Premier League campaign and remain reluctant to weaken their squad during the window.

Isidor joined Sunderland permanently from Zenit Saint Petersburg last January and is under contract until June 2028. His next steps, therefore, remain dependent on whether any club is prepared to meet the English side’s valuation.
