Rhys Bennett made 35 League One appearances for Fleetwood Town last season
**Fleetwood Town have signed former loan defender Rhys Bennett from Premier League side Manchester United on a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.**
The 22-year-old had two loan spells with the Cod Army last season, during which he made a total of 38 appearances and scored two goals.
In addition to his time with Fleetwood, Bennett also had a six-month loan spell with Stockport County in 2024.
He returns to Highbury having captained Manchester United's under-21 side this season.
