Jorgen Strand Larsen
The January window is set to close in the next few days, and Leeds united seem to have concluded their business. What started out as an exciting window, could now end with the club just making one signing.
Jack Harrison joined Italian side Fiorentina on loan, with Facundo Buonanotte joining from Brighton till the end of the season. Fans also thought the Whites would land a move for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, but the deal is all but over. The main focus for Leeds United this weekend will be their game against Arsenal; Daniel Farke’s men will be hoping to continue their fight for survival.

Wolves maintain final stance on Jorgen Strand Larsen
When reports emerged that Leeds United had serious interest in Jorgen Strand Larsen, it raised the expectations of the fanbase. The club were aiming to buy a quality striker who knows how to score and would boost their chances of survival. This move was set to follow the signing of Facundo Buonanotte on loan till the end of the season. Clearly the 49ers had a plan to make sure the team’s frontline was potent enough to see them till the end of the season.
Crystal Palace got involved in this deal late, and the London club moved to the front of the queue. Leeds on the other hand, were not willing to budge on their £40 million valuation; maintaining their last offer of £33 million and £6 million in add-ons. The last update was that Palace threatened to walk away from the deal because Wolves wanted more.
Tom Collomosse of the Daily Mail has now given an update; Wolves now want £45 million for Jorgen Strand Larsen and will not budge on the price tag. They are willing to keep him at the club this month if they do not receive a suitable offer.

Leeds United need to move on
With the deal all but dead in the water, Leeds United need to move on from the pursuit of Jorgen Strand Larsen. Trying to sign him in the first place was surprising considering his fee was much higher than any player signed by the club in the summer.
And now with a potential deal off the table, Leeds can move on to other potential targets. Recent games have showed that the Whites need more firepower and cannot solely rely on Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the rest of the season.
