Newcastle United have turned down a Joe Willock transfer bid from a Premier League rival according to a new media exclusive.
Talksport say that their information is that Fulham have seen a £20million bid rejected by Newcastle United.
The ‘exclusive’ stating; ‘Joe Willock is thought to be keen on a move to west London, although the Magpies are reluctant to sanction an exit this late in the window without sourcing a replacement. His current deal expires in June 2027, meaning this could be one of the last remaining opportunities to cash in on a player they bought for £25m back in 2021.’
As with all transfer stories, you believe it when the move actually happens and the player is seen in his new club’s colours.
If there is any truth in this Fulham offer, it will be interesting to see if they persist with their claimed Joe Willock interest.
Willock had his best game for some time on Wednesday and reminding us what he is capable of, though hit by some bad injuries and form issues, he has struggled these past two and a half years or so to reach the heights of when he was a key player as Newcastle United finished fourth top in the 2022/23 Premier League season.
In late November 2025, it was reported in a previous media exclusive, that Crystal Palace were interested in signing Joe Willock during this mid-season window.
That story ran alongside other reporting that claimed Eddie Howe was interested in trying to sign the exciting young midfielder Kees Smit this month, or failing that, in summer 2026. That move said to be intended to see them get in ahead of a lot of other top clubs trying to sign AZ Alkmaar’s talented 19 year old.
Unless another player arrived, it is very difficult to imagine Eddie Howe weakening his squad during this full on season, especially with both Bruno and Joelinton having injury issues currently.
