Harrison Armstrong has been handed another start by David Moyes as Preston North End wait on a final transfer decision from Everton.

The teenager was a stand out performer in the first half of the season for PNE, making 17 appearances for Paul Heckingbottom’s side. On January 1, though, he was recalled by the Toffees with Moyes’ midfield options depleted.

Since then, Armstrong has featured in five Everton matches on the bounce, making four consecutive starts across all competitions. He was taken off at half time, against Leeds United on Monday, but retains his spot for this afternoon’s away clash.

Speaking in Friday’s press conference, the Scot said: “I won’t make a decision certainly until after Brighton and we’ve played there. I’m in regular contact with Peter Ridsdale and Paul Heckingbottom at Preston.

“I’m on the phone to them every couple of days about it. Again, we’ll wait and see how things go. But he’s not looked out of place in the Premier League... that would be the biggest compliment I could give Harrison, that’s for sure.”
