Opinion: Three things learned from Everton's draw vs Brighton as Harrison Armstrong decision…

Everton snatched a point on the south coast against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

David Moyes’ side weren’t great against Leeds United on Monday, and it was more of the same at Brighton today.

But, Beto managed to rescue Everton in stoppage time when he turned home the rebound from Jake O’Brien’s volley.

Wow, just wow! Sum that up for us, Toffees! 🤯

Who'd have thought Beto would save the day? 🤣

A draw has actually moved the Toffees up the Premier League table into eighth place, just one point behind seventh-placed Fulham.

With that said, here are three things learned from the clash at the Amex Stadium.

Everton must keep Beto

Everton News columnist Alan Myers understands that the Toffees will consider offers for Beto this January transfer window.

Beto has been heavily linked to Fenerbahce and Juventus, but those two potential moves appear to be off the table.

After his goal off the bench today, it’s clear that he must stay at Finch Farm this winter, as he can still offer a threat as a super sub.

Unless Moyes and his recruitment staff can find a suitable replacement, Beto shouldn’t be going anywhere until the summer.

Harrison Armstrong should return to Preston North End

Everton recalled Harrison Armstrong from his loan spell at Preston North End earlier this month, as Moyes needed emergency cover for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Idrissa Gana Gueye.

Armstrong has impressed, but now that Dewsbury-Hall and Gueye are back, he will be involved less and less.

The teenager was off the pace today as well, as he lost possession a whopping 12 times, according to Sofascore.

Admittedly, Armstrong was playing out of position as a right midfielder, but regardless, he should be heading back to Deepdale for the remainder of the season to continue his development.

David Moyes will be pushing even harder for a new winger

It became even more apparent today that Everton desperately need to bring in a winger before Monday’s deadline.

For a side aiming for Europe, it doesn’t make for good reading to have a midfielder playing out of position on the right flank.

The Toffees must go all out to sign Tyrique George or Harry Wilson, and they have actually sent a proposal for the former.

A loan with an option to buy bid has gone in for George, and talks are already underway.
