Newcastle United have been given the chance to sign a sensational striker ahead of the transfer window shutting in early February.
Following the departure of Alexander Isak and the failed pursuit of numerous number nines, it was imperative that Newcastle's eventual striker signings, Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, hit the ground running. The German has enjoyed a strong start to life on Tyneside and Wissa, though injured to begin his time at Newcastle, has performed well since returning to full fitness.
Manager Eddie Howe has been vocal in the past about the impact that Profit and Sustainability Rules have had on his team. This, combined with quite heavy expenditure in the summer, has seen the Magpies have a quiet winter thus far. Newcastle are yet to bring any new bodies into their squad this January, despite being linked with a number of players.

Newcastle star now keen to join Fulham as Magpies reply to bid
Marco Silva's side are making a last-gasp dash for him.
Howe has recently spoken about the impact of losing a player such as Isak, both on the pitch and in the market.
"He [Isak] was an outstanding player. When you take that player away from your team, it's going to change the dynamics, that's for sure. Then you have to try to find a way of, not replacing him, but finding a player or players who can still make the team really effective.
"We're still in that moment and we've been trying to do that all season. I think the guys who have come in have done a very good job."
Though Woltemade and Wissa have both enjoyed strong performances at Newcastle, it seems that the club could be tempted into pushing for yet another elite striker.
Newcastle offered chance to bring exciting forward back to England
According to a recent report from TEAMtalk, Newcastle are one of many clubs who have been offered the chance to sign Jhon Duran, with agents close to the striker holding talks with possible suitors.
The Colombian signed for Al-Nassr in the winter of 2025, only to join Fenerbahce on loan the following summer. Though he has only spent six months in Turkey, there are once again rumours about Duran's future.

Ben Mattinson, a first-team scout at Como, has previously described Duran as "one of the best strikers in today's game." As he proved with Aston Villa, who signed him in 2023, Duran is more than capable of operating in the most-elite circles of European football. Still just 22 years old, the striker could feasibly be a dependable option for years at St James' Park, were Newcastle to agree a deal.
Al-Nassr spent over £70 million to sign Duran last winter and presumably, the club would want to recoup a significant portion of that fee were he to depart on a permanent basis. Given Howe's comments on PSR restrictions, it remains to be seen whether Newcastle could work out a way to spend what would be a sizeable fee or if they could negotiate a loan.
There are few options, however, that could benefit them more than an in-form Duran.
