It may have been a disappointing result for Everton on the south coast, but a new signing at least appears to be imminent.
Beto saved the Toffees from defeat at Brighton after making it 1-1 in the final seconds, but it was largely an uninspiring display from Everton, who lacked creativity following the loss of Jack Grealish to a broken foot.
However, some help could be on the way for the attacking department as Everton advance in talks to sign Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea.
What should be Everton’s top priority before the deadline on Monday? 😬

Everton close to Tyrique George agreement with Chelsea
An Everton insider has now revealed on X (previously known as Twitter) that talks between Everton and Chelsea are progressing well, with the two sides close to an agreement over a loan deal.
It is now up to the 19-year-old to decide whether he wants to move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
It is a big decision for the teenager, as the loan may end up being a permanent switch to Merseyside due to the fact Everton have proposed an option to buy in talks with Chelsea.

Tyrique George can play anywhere for David Moyes
If Everton manage to secure this loan deal and negotiate a purchase option too, it could prove to be the perfect transfer.
Not only is George a precocious talent who can inject some dynamism into Everton’s attack, but he can also cover several areas for Moyes.
The Chelsea academy product has primarily featured on the left flank throughout his career – scoring 11 goals and assisting another 11 in 35 appearances on that side – but also has experience of playing centrally and on the right.

So, not only can George act as a direct replacement for Grealish on the left, but he could also be used up top on a day where Thierno Barry and Beto are struggling.
Hopefully, Everton can get this one over the line.
