FINLEY SMITH REPORTS ON WOLVES 2-0 LOSS TO BOURNEMOUTH

LINEUPS:

WOLVES:

Sa, Rodrigo, Mosquera, Agbadou, Santiago, Bueno, Andre, Joao, Mane, Arokadare, Hwang

BOURNEMOUTH:

Petrovic, Truffert, Senesi, Hill, Smith, Cook, Scott, Adli, Kroupi, Jimenez, Evanilson

FIRST HALF:

Wolves started the game strongly, good attacking play and we won a corner early on, but nothing came of it. Wolves fans coming into this game were wondering what lineup will Rob Edwards pick today? Will he pick a proper striker? Well Arokadare was his choice and he had to had a good game if we were to try and get anything.

The atmosphere was quiet to start with but soon got going. Not long after, Mateus Mane scored but unfortunately, it was offside. Well Wolves fans definitely thought we were in for a good game showing some excitement and quality early on. It was an end to end opening 30 minutes.

Suddenly after all of this, Bournemouth’s number 22 Kroupi hit an absolute corker of a goal. Wolves found themselves 1-0 down.

After this, Wolves lost concentration, a couple silly mistakes from the two Brazilian lads in midfield. It was heading to halftime and Wolves hadn’t been bad, we needed to pick up concentration and up a level though. Wolves fans would all most certainly agree that this is a must win game, specially if we want to at least TRY and stay up!

Anyway…

HALFTIME

Wolves 0-1 Bournemouth

SECOND HALF:

As the second half started, it was the opposite to the first with Bournemouth with a dangerous attack trying to catch Wolves off guard and a good save by Sa to see it out for a corner but luckily nothing came off it and that save was vital, specially early on in the first half already a goal down.

As the second half went on, Wolves fans continued to cheer on the lads to try and find an equaliser. Chance after chance, side to side to try and feed the ball to the big boys in the box but every shot either saved, off the bar or missed. SO PAINFUL!

Bournemouth didn’t really attack much in the second half, it was mostly all Wolves but Bournemouth managed to get out of the pressure. It really tells the story of Wolves season and not taking our chances is a huge part of our downfall.

Towards the end of the game Bournemouth had some good dangerous attacks, all of a sudden Bournemouth cut down the Wolves side and in the 90+1 minute Bournemouth show Wolves what they need to do and seal the game. 2-0.
