Iraola hails Scott for stepping up as Englishman impresses in Wolves win

Scott was a standout for the Cherries at Molineux, as he capped off a top performance with Bournemouth’s second goal with the game entering five added minutes at the end of the 90.

He smashed home from close range from a Rayan cut back, as the Brazilian notched an assist on his Cherries debut.

The 22-year-old also played a key role in the first goal as he cut out a pass from the back and beat his man, playing the ball to Amine Adli who flicked it to Junior Kroupi, and the Frenchman applied a superb finish.

Iraola said Scott has been playing well all season – and he has stepped up when the team has needed him most.

“I think Alex is performing very well this season,” Iraola said.

“I think especially in a moment where we've been playing without Tyler Adams, without Ryan Christie, he has had to play probably all the minutes and I think he's becoming a very good player.

“I hope we can keep him there, now that we have with Ryan Christie recovered with Alex Toth, with Tyler Adams not so far, we can keep him with the same level.”
