Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is eager to move to Serie A giants AC Milan before the transfer window closes on Monday
However, the move is being held up by the Eagles who want to sign a replacement before they allow Mateta to head to Italy and finalise his exit.
Mateta is keen on the move and is currently waiting for permission to travel to Italy where he will undergo a medical and complete his move to Serie A.
The report notes that ‘everything is basically’ agreed but the final decision still lies with Palace.
They have agreed a loan deal for Evann Guessand with a £28m option to buy. That will become an obligation to buy if certain performance related add-ons are triggered.
However, the Eagles do not want to let Mateta leave without getting another forward in.
They had an offer worth up to £39m - with £33m up front and £6m in add-ons - rejected earlier in the window and are currently not interested in matching Palace’s offer. Strand Larsen came off the bench in the 70th minute as Wolves lost 2-0 to Bournemouth at home.
Speaking about the player’s future afterwards, Wolves boss Rob Edwards remained coy. He said: “I have not got a crystal ball, we will see what the next couple of days bring.
“I think we will be in a good spot in the next few days and look forward to getting back on the pitch.”
He added: “Some of those things are out of my control, I’ll be involved of course, but we will see what happens.”
