Journalist says Everton target is now refusing to come to England, his club are very annoyed

Everton are experiencing late setbacks in regards to recruitment.

Three transfer targets started to slip away on Friday as Jhon Duran, Emil Holm and Brooke Norton-Cuffy edged closer to signing for Lille, Napoli and Inter Milan despite links to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Now – according to Christian Falk – Sacha Boey is not exactly desperate to move to Everton either.

What should be Everton’s top priority before the deadline on Monday? 😬

Everton target Sacha Boey digs his heels in despite Bayern Munich wanting to sell

The reliable Bayern Munich reporter has now revealed that Everton are interested in the Frenchman – along with Crystal Palace and Lyon – but he is refusing to leave the Allianz Arena.

On his YouTube page, Falk was asked: “We know obviously that Bayern have been trying to sell Boey to the Premier League for some time. There were reports of interest from Crystal Palace that stalled and ended, Everton. But is it true he’s now refusing offers from England?”

In response, he said: “Yes, that’s true, and that’s really irritating for Bayern Munich. They want to sell him and they don’t know why he says no to the offers. Also Lyon made a really concrete offer. He said no, he won’t take this and also the interest from the Premier League. He’s earning about three million euros and that’s a good pay for him. So perhaps this is the reason.”

Everton have shortlisted a number of right-backs this winter as The Friedkin Group look to find help for Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson.

Along with the aforementioned Holm and Norton-Cuffy, Everton have also been linked to two Championship stars in Femi Seriki and Ryan Alebiosu of Sheffield United and Blackburn respectively.

However, even with just under 48 hours until the transfer window closes, it really is a mystery as to which right-back arrives at Everton, if any.

David Moyes doesn’t necessarily need any signings but Everton might kick themselves

Everton will survive this season without making a new signing this winter. The Toffees have already accumulated an impressive 33 points from 23 games, and that magic 40-point mark is within touching distance.

However, more could be achieved with a bit of investment before the 5pm deadline on Monday.

At the time of writing, Everton are only five points away from the UEFA Champions League qualification spots.

Given the strength of the Premier League nowadays, it might be too difficult to qualify for Europe next season, so David Moyes has a real chance this term to fire Everton back into European football for the first time since the 2017/18 campaign.

However, that might not be possible without a new signing or two.
