Unless a shock name emerges from out of nowhere, Everton look set to finish this winter transfer window without making a single addition to the defence.
David Moyes deserves some help after guiding Everton to within touching distance of the top four, but The Friedkin Group have so far failed to bring a new face to the Hill Dickinson Stadium – despite making several additions for another of their clubs, Roma.
The likes of Jhon Duran and Emil Holm look to have got away from Everton – and another target in Ryan Alebiosu has now committed himself to Blackburn.
There are so many to choose from! 🫣
Jean-Philippe Gbamin is surely in your top three… 😫

Ryan Alebiosu suggests he has no desire to sign for Everton this winter
Alan Myers recently told Everton fans to keep an eye on Alebiosu as the Toffees show interest in the Nigeria international.
However – in an interview with BBC Radio Lancashire – Alebiosu has revealed he intends to see out the season with Blackburn, as “everything out there” right now does not appeal to him.
The Blackburn No.2 said: “I haven’t looked into it much, I am focused on the club I am at. I have heard a few things but my mind isn’t on that. I am focused on getting as fit as possible and helping the team.
“Everything out there is not what I am looking for. I expect to be here (when the window shuts) – 100%.”

Everton also like Femi Seriki of Sheffield United – another talented defender shining in the Championship – and he could be more likely to join with only 18 months remaining on his contract.
Everton fans risk watching some turgid football if a new full-back fails to arrive
Moyes clearly doesn’t trust Nathan Patterson, having admitted on Friday that Everton have been searching for a new right-back for roughly 12 months now.
The Scotland international was also benched for the trip to Brighton in favour of a central defender playing at right-back in Jake O’Brien, which contributed to a tough watch for Everton fans.
A centre-back also started at left-back in Jarrad Branthwaite, and the lack of at least one natural full-back means a lot of the football played under Moyes is narrow, slow stuff.
Could Nathan Patterson have offered Everton more from right-back than Jake O’Brien? 🤔

Fans may unfortunately have to get used to such a style unless a new full-back is found before the 5pm transfer deadline on Monday.
