Everything you need to know as we ask AI to take control of Leeds United's late transfer window
We assigned AI to serve as the decision-maker for Leeds' signings and sales as the January transfer window approaches its close. It offered several recommendations for the club to review before February 2nd.
The AI firstly recommends a late move for £24million Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare to provide a physical focal point. His arrival it claims would offer a vital aerial threat and competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the team battles against relegation.
Securing Harry Wilson from Fulham is another priority outlined by the AI to inject proven Premier League delivery and set-piece quality into the attacking rotation. It suggests his technical ability would provide a necessary alternative to Noah Okafor and help unlock stubborn defensive blocks.
With Illan Meslier entering the final months of his contract and showing no signs of renewing, the AI advises an immediate sale to recoup market value. This would prevent a free transfer departure in the summer and generate funds in the AI's scenario.
Selling Joel Piroe to a Championship promotion contender is also recommended to trim the wage bill and capitalise on his high market value in the second tier. His departure would theoretically free up space for incoming arrivals.
The AI also mandates that all inquiries for Brenden Aaronson must be rejected, citing his peak form and irreplaceable statistical impact on chance creation. His current 2026 performances are the primary driver behind the club's recent points haul, says the AI, making a mid-season sale catastrophic.
The AI does, however, identify Sander Berge as an ideal theoretical target to add physical robustness and composure to the central midfield alongside Ao Tanaka. It claims his Premier League experience would stabilise a young midfield, and Leeds could offer him more regular minutes than he gets at Fulham.
With Harry Gray already gaining senior minutes at Rotherham the AI also suggests sending Sam Chambers on a developmental loan to a League One club. It states this move ensures the 18-year-old receives the consistent game time required for his progression.
