Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign former Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran ahead of the transfer deadline, according to reports.
The Magpies, along with a number of Premier League clubs, have reportedly been presented with an opportunity to land the Colombian forward, with intermediaries exploring Duran’s possible return to England.
The 22-year-old has struggled to impress on loan at Fenerbahce from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr this season, scoring just three goals in 10 Turkish league appearances.
He has made just 11 starts for Fenerbahce amid stiff competition from fellow centre-forwards Youssef En-Nesyri and Anderson Talisca.

According to TEAMtalk, Ligue 1 side Lille are seen as frontrunners to sign Duran ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline, with talks ongoing over the 22-year-old’s move to France.
Intermediaries are believed to have also approached a host of Premier League clubs, with Tottenham, Leeds and Newcastle among those contacted.
Duran has endured a difficult season in Turkey, having been forced to miss two months through injury before making his return in November.
The ‘phenomenal’ forward has scored five goals and provided three assists in 21 appearances across all competitions, helping Fenerbahce remain unbeaten in the Super Lig after 19 games.
Duran spent two years at Villa following his arrival from MLS side Chicago Fire in January 2023, netting 15 times in 55 Premier League appearances.
He departed the West Midlands club for Al-Nassr after struggling to battle for minutes with Unai Emery’s first-choice striker Ollie Watkins, making just seven league starts during his time at Villa Park.

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe applauds fans after the match vs Everton
Newcastle have yet to make any new signings in the winter market and appear unlikely to do so in the final two days of the window.
Eddie Howe’s side have been linked with a move for a new defender amid injury issues at the back, but Dan Burn’s return to the squad has eased concerns for the time being.
Newcastle have been hit by several defensive injuries recently, with Fabian Schar, Tino Livramento and Emil Krafth all sidelined.
The Magpies were also without midfielders Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes for their 4-1 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.
