Carrick has refused to rule out the possibility of Manchester United signing somebody before the transfer window closes on Monday, after being dealt with a blow with the news that Patrick Dorgu has picked up a hamstring injury. Dorgu had been in fine form for United and started the past two games on the left wing, scoring against Manchester City and Arsenal, but he is now out for a couple of months after picking up the injury at the Emirates.
United have insisted all January that they would only make a move for a player who was a long-term target this month and the chances of that happening were receeding, but Carrick suggested conversations around recruitment were still going on.

They will also be without Patrick Dorgu, who has picked up a hamstring injury, although Joshua Zirkzee could be fit enough to return to the squad after he was back in training this week. Victory will hand Carrick three wins in a row and match Ruben Amorim's longest winning streak in charge and he isn't worried about the prospect of needing a different approach this weekend.
"I don’t think we need to make too much of it, we are where we are and the feeling around the squad and the results we have had, the performances we have had and going into the next game, I don’t think the past is too relevant in that respect," he said.

Good morning and welcome along to the United matchday blog as the Reds prepare to face Fulham in the Premier League. Carrick confirmed Dorgu would be out for an extended period during his press conference on Friday, which is a blow for both the club and the winger. It also means United will be making at least one change to the side which beat Arsenal last weekend. Cunha will be hoping he is given the nod considering his excellent matchwinner at the Emirates Stadium. A win for United would make it three in a row for the Reds and would increase confidence further as they push for Champions League qualification.
